Beginning July 1st 2009, Mixed Martial Arts will be regulated by the Indiana State Athletic Commission. Although the State’s oversight will prevent many unsafe shows from further harming the sport as well as fighters, there will be added expenses for the promoters. As is true with any company, the survival of the business itself is a priority. If GECF fails to exist, the fans would not have a show to attend during the cold, boring winter months in Northern Indiana. To ensure GECF can continue to provide Warsaw with top-notch MMA action, there will be a $5 price increase on all tickets beginning with the September 12th event. I understand that many GECF fans faithfully budget their money to ensure they are able to purchase tickets for every show. That type of dedication continually drives me to produce a high quality event and I felt it was only fair to provide a notice well in advance.
GECF 14 is scheduled for The Wagon Wheel Theatre on September 12th. Tickets go on sale August 1st.
